Molly’s Birthday Song
It’s tradition that we sing an Irish Drinking Song for my Beloved Sis’s birthday! Or sales. Or whenever we feel like it. *g* Happy Birthday, Sis!
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
Too long it’s been I think
Since we three stopped to drink
At our favorite bawdy pub
Drinks as big as bathing tubs!
It’s Molly’s birthday, don’t you know,
I wonder if she’ll dare to show.
After all the fun last year–
Ogling Vin while drinking beer!
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
Here she comes but with a growl;
She grabs a stool, her mood is foul.
“Don’t even say it!” She throws up a hand.
“Until it’s finished, reading is banned!”
“But Sis,” says I, “I want to read
About your gigilo–don’t make me plead!”
Molly shoots sly looks my way.
“Fair is fair–first give me some dragon play.”
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
“There she is!” We cheer the Goddess–
Smoldering smut she pens relentless–
“Another sale, I hear tell
A winter god helped celebrate your sale.”
“Indeed,” winks the Goddess, “What a fine way
To spend melting ice on a cold snowy day!
This round is mine for Molly’s day–
May we all have sales this year I pray!”
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
“So where’s my present?” Molly asks,
A cool brow raised, calm her mask.
The Goddess and I share a grin.
“I’m sorry, Sis, we couldn’t get Vin.”
“No Vin,” she moans, downs ale with a scowl.
“Last year I got him in a towel!
I guess I should be writing anyway.”
“Too bad,” says I, “I’ll hold Charon at bay.”
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
The tavern door opens with a slam;
Vin–as Charon, my drakon–quite the ham;
Arms crossed, golden eyes ablaze.
Molly gasps, her eyes are glazed.
“I’ve been tortured, penned, and nearly killed.
My sequel ignored, can you tell I’m thrilled?”
Molly takes his arm and throws us a wink.
“Oh, poor baby, my lazy Sis really stinks!”
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!
Off she goes with her winged friend;
I hope he doesn’t eat her in the end.
“What a journey,” says the Goddess with a hug.
“Together up the Mountain,” I toast with my mug.
O, hidey-hidey hidey-hidey hidey-hidey ho, it’s down the road we go!

I did it again. Seems I’ve found a tag no-no. Joely, feel free to delete my prior posts.
Ahem. As I was saying…
“I hope he doesn’t eat her in the end.”
*fights the urge*
*loses miserably*
I doubt she’d object.
