Fess Up Monday
Monday, May 7th, 2007Well, after such wonderful news last week, I’m changing gears in May. This week, I will concentrate on Beautiful Death. I need to revise the opening, make it sing. [Edited: finished! I got up Dark and Early this morning. The opening page has been revised and the excerpt is updated.] However, I realized tonight that I can’t enter it in the American Title contest after all, because technically, I’m published! So I will continue the agent query path. I haven’t submitted it to any publishers yet. With its futuristic slant, I’m not sure that Drollerie would be interested. We’ll see–I have time yet to decide while I work on the other series.
The wonderful thing: I’m writing another novella to compliment both Survive My Fire and BloodRose. Then we plan to release the two novellas together in print. I have the basic background, and of course, the theme of the series. I know the world, the mythology. I just need characters, and a plot. Details, details.
So I’ll be brainstorming plot while I finish up Beautiful Death, and then maybe I can crank out the first draft by the end of May. Then I’ll have plenty of time in June to polish and revise, while working on the other revisions.
That’s the plan, at least. And of course, somewhere in there I need to continue work on my other projects.
So gang, how about you? What’s your plan for this week?
