Monster Update
Monday, August 6th, 2007Whew, a very tough day. Definitely, this was the worst day yet, the worst MM has felt. She’s never handled fever very well–throwing up, unable to take oral medicine. Once as a baby she totally freaked me out with 105.7 degree temp, throwing up, horrible. That time, we rushed her to the emergency room and they told us to use suppositories to get her fever down. I didn’t resort to that today because her fever was only about 101, definitely within the expected range after tonsillectomy.
Mostly, she slept on me. I worked about 1 sip of water down her every 30 minutes. Nothing else worked, and she threw up several more times. Finally, though, her tummy settled down enough that she drank water a little easier. That Man stopped by in the afternoon with ice and orange creme popsickles (which she refused), and convinced her to take some Motrin. Then she and Mom dozed some more in the chair from about 2:30 - 5:00. The only reason she woke up is because I needed to pee.
Within an hour, though, she was asking to try some food. Believe it or not, she ate a steak taquito from Taco Bell, a spare That Man brought home. She drank some chocolate milk, more water, an ice cream popsickle, and her temp is normal right now.
Whew. Thank God. Hopefully tonight will be better. She’s already had her dose of codeine for the night and her sippie of ice water is handy.
All I accomplished today was like a paragraph of writing and some website updates. I’m going to try a little bit now and get at least 500 words.
Oh, and is anyone else frothing at the mouth because of PBW’s absence?
New giveaway coming tomorrow!
