Pearl’s World of Romance, a perfect 10 out of 10!

“YOURS TO TAKE is the kind of book that took my heart, broke it and then put it back together, leaving it whole and satisfied. If you love erotic romance that’s both scorching and emotionally brilliant and you haven’t read Joely Sue Burkhart’s Connaghers series yet, you are seriously missing out!”

The Book Pushers

“I don’t know that Burkhart has changed my mind about most FemDom books I’ve read, but by the end of the story, I enjoyed the dynamic between the three of them. One of the things I really like about Burkhart’s writing is that when it comes to the BDSM, she is very honest and realistic and true. I enjoyed watching Vicki struggle with wanting to be a Domme, but also knowing that Jesse had been hurt in the past and not wanting to hurt him again.”

The Book Lovers Inc:

“Yessss Elias!! Seriously the best part of the book. I loved him to pieces. Big Alpha guy who makes Vicki submit to him. I loved that he wanted her to fight him for dominance. The scenes between them were just the best. Best smex too! Oh my so hot!”

The Book Reading Gals

“Wow. Every review I read before reading  Yours To Take myself was right! Joely Sue Burkhart skillfully weaves together the lives of these three very different individuals in a passionate, erotic, genuine way that has you rooting for Jesse, Vicki and Elias to find their own ‘fairytale together.’”

Leontine’s Book Realm:

“Yours To Take…is a story of enigmatic characters who make the love soar and their sexy moments go from sensual blooming to full-blown passion. The Connaghers are a family to enclose in your heart!”

Review: Yours to Take

A wonderful 5-star rating from Slick at Guilty Pleasures!

I have read hundreds of erotic romance books, of those a lot have been ménage stories, many more have had some elements of BDSM, but I have never read a book quite like this one. … Joely’s character development made these characters seem so real. The unusual nature of their relationship, the outside forces, the interesting supporting cast, and a truly unique storyline makes this a truly exceptional ménage story. I simply can’t recommend this book highly enough, it’s that good. In fact, I read it then I went and re-read the two previous books, and read this one again before I wrote the review. It was even better the second time around and I’ve very pleased to give Yours to Take a 5 star rating.

Thank you so much, Slick! Yours to Take can be preordered at SamhainAmazon, or B&N.

Dear Sir I’m Yours 10,000 Milestone

I got my Samhain royalty statement this weekend and I’ve been happy-teary ever since because Conn hit a significant milestone.  After its release in June 2009, Dear Sir, I’m Yours has sold 10,000 electronic copies!  I’m just stunned, honestly.  It’s absolutely amazing to think that more than 10,000 people have read a story I wrote.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every one of you who’ve read about the sexiest English teacher alive and went on to read about his wicked brother Victor…and hopefully their incredibly complicated sister, Vicki.

Review: Hurt Me So Good

Armenia at Naughty in the Backseat gives HMSG 4.5 Whips (haha, perfect!):

I admit I don’t watch much reality television but with the first paragraph of Hurt Me So Good I was hooked. Joely Sue Burkhart grabbed me by the collar and lead me down a path I could not stray, and I gladly followed. To my fascination this super-length novella overflowed with sexual tension that seem to increase with each page. I found myself at the edge of my seat as I “watched” Victor and Shiloh’s story unfold before my eyes.  As contestants on a television show called America’s Next Top Subthe chemistry between them sizzled “on” and “off” the stage. The sex is hot, the foreplay edgy, and lots of dominant/submissive action got my total attention.

Thank you so much, Armenia!

Guest Willa Edwards

I’m so honored to have Willa Edwards on my blog today, and teary-eyed from the wonderful things she has to say!  Please help her celebrate her debut release, Naughty List!  She’s offering a free copy for commenters, too.

~ * ~

I’ve wanted to be a writer ever since I realized you could earn a living making up stories (still working on that part). When I was fourteen years old I accidentally bought a romance novel, and had a revelation. All the stories I’d been writing, that I’d been calling paranormal, horror or mystery, were really romances. I was a romance writer.

I had a similar revelation a year and a half ago when I met Joely in a writers group and purchased her novel “Dear Sir, I’m Yours.” My writing style evolved and a dove head first into the epublishing world.

Today I stand before you on the release date of my very first publication. And I definitely feel its due in part to Joely. To her amazing work that shows the sweet and spicy side of all relationships, her bravery to write the truth (even if she has to do it with her eyes closed) and the support she lends so selflessly to other authors.

In honor of all Joely’s done for me I wanted to give a way a copy of my release, Naughty List, here today. Leave a comment and throw your name into the Santa cap. I’ll pick a winner at the stroke of Christmas.

Eric has been in love with Callie since the day they met, one month after someone else put a ring on her finger. Since her engagement ended Eric has been biding his time, waiting for her to be ready. Until he finds a naughty list of Christmas wishes hidden between her couch cushions with his name on the top.

He’s willing to do anything to make Callie happy, including take on the role of dominant Santa Claus and spank her to a blow-your-stockings-off orgasm. But is she ready for everything he wants? Does she want his love?

Review: Hurt Me So Good

MacKenzie of Blackraven Reviews has named HMSG a Recommended Read (review)!

Ms. Burkhart has certainly put herself in a class above the rest with this story. To be able to write such intensity, emotion and drama, and to have the characters remain loving and devoted, was amazing to see. It’s so rare in these types of storylines and that’s a sad thing. I wish more authors were willing to put their skills to the test this way, but I have a feeling the results would be nowhere close to the same.

If you can, stop by Blackraven Reviews and vote for HMSG for top book of the week.  Voting is open until midnight EST Sunday, December 19th.

Thank you so much, MacKenzie!
