Two new reviews for Her Grace’s Stable are up at GoodReads:
This story is a sequel to Lady Doctor Wyre, and continues Joely Sue Burkhart’s amazing world building! You will come away from these books wishing you could walk around in this world and meet these characters. … Character at conflict with self seems to recur a lot in Joely Sue’s books and I love it! Arthur hates the needs he has and yet he can’t deny them either. He will need Lady Blackmyre’s strong hand and whip to help him accept himself and her and Cole. ~ Chibiboo
This book runs the gamut of kinky good times. I wasn’t sure if I would really enjoy a book about pony play, but I’m not surprised that I did. Ms. Burkhart viewed the kink not as something to be ashamed of, but something to revel in, and mixed it wonderfully among some deliciously hot m/f, m/m, and m/m/f sex. But it’s not just about trussing up men like ponies and running them around a private ring! There’s a fight for men’s equal rights (which I loved), a conspiracy with the ponies, not to mention Violet’s illness. I loved the twist at the end.
I’m not normally one to read 1800s historical romances, they’re just not my thing. But mix in a little steampunk and a broken hero like Arthur, a loyal fellow like Cole, and a tough-as-nails heroine like Violet and I’m on board in a heartbeat. ~ R. E. Butler
I’m also at Here Be Magic today talking about what originally inspired this series: A Regency Drinking Game!
