Vote for Ritual Ink at ARe

Voting is now open for the Just One Bite paranormal romance contest at All Romance E-books!  You must be signed in at ARe to vote, but there are TONS of great reads!

Here’s a bit about my contribution, “Ritual Ink”:

Known as “Dirty Deeds” for the dark violence she commits at the Church’s orders, Catherine is a half-demon assassin.  For years, she’s been paired with Father Liam MacRae, who tattoos artistic designs laced with holy water into her skin to help cage her demon.  However, the spells are failing quicker than ever, and Catherine fears the worst.  One of these nights when she goes to the priest for healing, she’ll accidentally unleash her succubus.

On him.

Unbeknownst to her, Liam gave up his oath of chastity when he joined the secret brotherhood.  When violence ceases to keep her hungry demon satisfied, he’s more than eager to feed her passionate side.  If he can overcome her reluctance to commit dirty deeds with a former priest.

Good News Monday

Remember that short story I was working on, Ritual Ink?  I’m so pleased to announce that it was selected as one of the 32 finalists for All Romance E-books’ Just One Bite paranormal contest!  Details will be coming soon.

I posted more reviews for Golden last week.  Thank you to everyone who takes the time to rate or post reviews on GoodReads, Amazon, etc.

I have print copies of Hurt Me So Good getting ready to go out in the mail, along with some cool pens from Earthly Charms.  While I have ARCs on hand — if you’re a reviewer and you’d like a signed copy, please drop me an email (joelysueburkhart AT gmail DOT com) and I’ll send a promo package to you.

My friend Diana Castle has released her first self-pubbed title, Under His Hands, a steamy western erotic romance.  I’m reading my copy now and wheeew boy, she writes smoking hot, delicious stories as usual!

What’s your good news today?

Calling All Gregar Fans

All these threats of making me go to the doctor might be helping me feel better.  Or maybe it was simply eating the first real food of the day.

Or maybe it’s just getting some excellent news!

Tomorrow, “Prometheus Unbound” will be included in the weekly newsletter at All Romance E-Books.  This is a great opportunity to reach new people and let them see a bit of the Mythomorphoses world.  Hopefully they’ll be intrigued enough to come visit Athens with Isabella.

In pulling together my backlist and coming soon items for the newsletter, Deena and I agreed to target:

The Road to Shanhasson, March 2009

Which I often called “Gregar’s Book.”

I’ll be making my final pass on paper tonight to make sure all the loose ends are tied up now that I know exactly how the trilogy ends, and then I’ll work with Deena the next few months to ensure the story shines as brightly as Gregar’s ivory rahke.

Oh, and over lunch, I finished the first draft of the short story, which came in just under 2,400 words.  Yes, Virginia, it is possible for me to write something less than 100,000 words!
